    ....that has "mpeg layer-1" as an audio compression option? Every version I get does not give me that as an option

    Virtualdub don't have any "own" export compression codecs, it uses windows encoder codecs(like divx,xvid,mp3 and so). So you must find a mpeg1 windows encoder codec. I had one once but don't remember the name.

    Or else use besweet, toolame(with tmpgenc) and convert to mpeg1.
