  1. If you open this program look down in the task bar and in my case it says "DVDX Xpress Alpha" wtf.

Anyway I have used the program now about 15 times and had two failures (Ice Age and Two Weeks Notice). The quality seems fine or it's good enough for me plus I do like the ease of use (almost a single click to do a backup).

  2. There was a thread on the DVDXCopy forums about that. They just forgot to remove the Alpha designation in the final build. It's really final.

Two Weeks Notice is kicking my ass. Ive tried about 10 different ways to back up this movie and none of them will work. Something is screwy with this movie.

Yeah I figured they just forgot about the alpha.

I finally did "Two Weeks Notice" by ripping with SmartRipper then used DVD2one and burned with RecordNow Max. What I had to do was rip all the files then I deleted all the files past the VOB movie files then ran DVD2one.

  4. Have you watched it? Do you have any sort of glitching in the movie? The first one I did with the DoItFast and ReAuthor suite of programs came out visually awesome but about every 4-5 minutes the movie would start glitching like it was skipping. A pink heart would pop up on the screen and that would last about 30 seconds then resume playing normally.

Ripping with DVD Decrypter and running it through DVD2One is better but it still glitches every few minutes. I thought I would try it again with Smartripper and rip only the movie.

Yes I watched it. I bought the movie the first day it came out took it home then backed it up and watched it so the original has never been used yet.

  6. "Two Weeks Notice" was the first DVD I backed up with DVD X Copy Xpress. Looks great EXCEPT after a few minutes of playing it suddenly loses sound or skips along like X2 speed or the picture begins to look like a VHS EP. Stopping and replaying it is OK again for a few minutes and then does it again.

I assumed Xpress was not ready for prime time and backed it up with DVD X Copy.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

  9. Well.. here's what I ended up doing. I ripped all the files with SmartRipper like BobW then. Then I used DVDShrink to reauthor JUST THE MOVIE on compression 0. If you delete the directors commentary and the French audio stream it will fit on 1 DVD with no compression.
