  1. Captured video always seems to have rice crispy sounds. Tried three different audio cards. Presently using SB LIve 5.1. Direct X 8 plus video update. No problems with video. Audio only a problem when capturing video. Using dual boot system for Win98SE and Win2000. Separate partitions with FAT32. Happens in both OS. Pentium III 800 133 bus, 512 PC133 memory. Western Digital 40g ATA 100 set for Ultra DMA 66. Asus CUV4X motherboard. Latest drivers including AGP driver. AGP driver set for standard mode. Same results when set to Turbo mode. Fresh install of both OS's. Multimedia Center 7.x seems quirky. Inconsistent behavior.

  2. Err don't take this the wrong way, but did you try using your line in and not your microphone port on your sound card?

Also, check that the mic and other uneeded items are muted in the SB mixer.

  4. I know this problem seems simple, but it is not. Finally figured out all the problems with ATI's drivers and how to fix or work around them. Know someone with similar problems? I have the solution, so send them my way.

  5. Me! Me! Here!

I tried everything, including clean reinstall of the whole system.
No way to get sound through the Radeon AIW!
My system is W2k-sp2, with latest retail ATI driver.
    Mobo MSIK7 cpu athlon 1.2.
The whole thing rocks if i input audio connecting the audio device input to the (onboard) audio line-in.

Instead noway to get audio trough the purple AIW box. The AIW is daisy chained to the aux-in with its internal connector.

Please belive it's not a matter of routing or windows mixer.
    Tried everything!
The most i get is a REALLY loud sound...
I guess it could be some kind of gain trouble. But ...

    If you know something ...
