I just got an archos multimedia, figured it would be good for carrying around my books on tape and anime files.

BUT, I can not get a good avi file to work on it. Anyone else ever get this working?

I can get 2 different results:
    1) Using virtualdub, I got a viewable AVI on, but the audio was out of sync, and got more out of sync as the show went on, ending with almost a minute out of sync with the video.
    2) Using dr. divx, I got a good avi when previewing it on my pc, but it would not play on the archos. They supply a program to fix AVIs to a good format, but all it did was strip out all the video frams, leaving only audio.

If anyone has had better success, please share how. or if someone has insight to solving my issues, please let me know.

    Thanks

  2. The JBMM is a great device, once you spend some time with it to find out it's limitations. While searching on the 'net for more info on the Archos, I ran across the following site:

Archos Jukebox Multimedia / AV Portable Video Site

It has some good guides to help with encoding and converting video for the Archos.

Also, I've found that Yahoo! has a groups list specifically for the archos.. you might want to check that out as well...

Anxiously awaiting the US release of the Archos AV340,
