is it possible to switch a capture card to NTSC? i want to record a couple of short clips from a DVD i have, but i think becuase its NTSC the colour comes out all wrong.
i think i have an AverMedia capture card.
I use CyberLink PowerVCR, Virtual Dub and Windows Movie Maker (ME)

If you have a dvd dirve it would be better to rip the shots rather than to plug your dvd player to your capture card. Or else, the incorrect color might be due to macrovision copy protection on the dvd. You might be able to de-macrovision your dvd player and that would solve a macrovision problem (look under "dvd hacks" on the left). Another method could be to play it on your tv and take pictures with a digital camera or regular camera then scan them

yeah i was thinking about getting a dvd-rom but thats $100.
im sure its not the macrovision because it usually stuffs up while playing though a vcr, not when its only recording.
no hacks available for my player anywayno digial camera either.
