I've long used TMPGEnc, but having tried out CCE for a few days I'm blown away by its speed and quality and I really want to carry on using it.

However I'm having problems with importing the DVD MPG into Ulead MF2, its trying to re-encode, which we all know is a waste of time.

    Here my procedure -

    1) Check AVI for bad frames first using Virtuadub

    2) Frameserve from virtuadub, applied a resize filter to ensure video size is 740x480

    3) Import the vdr into CCE. set audio to stereo, 48KHz @ 256kbps

    4) Set video options to M=3 N/M = 5 (CCE manual says these are the defaults)

    5) Tick the "Make DVD Compliant box

    6) Add Seq end code is ticked

    7) Sequence header set to 1

    8) Packet size set to 2048

    9) Set Video mode to MPEG2 ES multipass VBR

    10) Set bit rates Avg 6000, Min 2000 Max 7000

    11) start to encode and when I import the MPV and MPA files into Ulead Movie Factory 2, the damn thing wants to re-encode. I've ticked the do not rencode DVD complient box. I've tried the customise template to make sure the Ulead settings match the CCE settings.

I am now at my wits end and any help would be really appricated.

    Thanks

  2. Your CCE encoding should have a bitrate that is slightly below that of the project setting in DVD MovieFactory to avoid re-encoding.

    Have you tried that, yet?
