  1. I have a VHS I'd like to capture and record to DVD but it sounds like it was recorded in a wind tunnel.

    What are the simplest, newb-friendliest options available?

    I am using an ATI AIW 8500DV.

    I have the same problem off and on with my Nvidia Capture Card using VirtualDub. I'm thinking it may have something to do with overdriving the Audio Record "Line In" on my sound card, and I'm still experimenting with different settings. Mine is set about 3/4 way to the top now, and the volumn "seems" normal on playback. When I check the level with Wavelab Lite it actually registers a little low, but the final product is distorted if I run the volumn up very high on DVD playback, so something is amiss! Be patient ....I'm sure someone will jump in has had the same problem and found the solution.

    Good captures? Cleaning the audio? Easy? ATI?
    YOU'RE IN LUCK MY FRIEND!
    Goto the VHS->DVD guide here:

    I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  4. I'll check out the link. But maybe I was not clear. The VHS sounds like crap.

    I want to put it onto DVD but I'll need to clean up the noise on my PC...

    ** I see you have answered my question with your link. thank you.
