  1. Hi.
If I download a file in MPG and the file is named something like: 8_Mile_swe_sub_CD1
How do I know if itīs vcd or svcd?
I often get the message from Nero to "ignore" or "convert"...

    Anyone know what I mean?

    Any answer is highly appreciated
    Thanks Stefan

    use avicodec, www.dvdrhelp.com/play#identify
It will say if its vcd(mpeg1) or svcd/dvd(mpeg2)(to check if svcd check under video if it says 480x480 or 480x576)

  3. Use VDub or VCDEasy to analyze the MPEG to determine if it's MPEG1 or MPEG2, and the resolution. See the what is section to the left for the VCD and SVCD standards.

More than likely it's MPEG1 but not at he standard VCD resolution (or even a NTSC legal resolution for an xVCD) and will need to be resized.
