menus w/ photoshop

ok well i have got the authoring dvd's and stuff down to a science..but now i want more custom things, im starting with a custom menu..

ive been toying around with photoshop for a past few days and done a few things but im really a newbie to this.. so what im asking is for someone to send me a good complete guide on how to creatue a menu using photoshop to edit the picture, make buttons, etc.
