I recently got a new computer with a burner. went to dvdrhelp.com to learn about what to do next. i took a dvd-9 disc (pearl jam 2000 tour disc) and started on my way. decoded it with DVD Decrypter, compressed and re-encoded it with DVD shrink, and then set about to burn it to a DVD+RW with my factory burn software Sonic's MyDVD. unfortunately, MyDVD said it could not recognize the files. i also had to use a lot of compression and dump the AC3 audio to reduce the files to 4.38GB.
is there a better way to compress? is a concert a hard first disc? i would rather not buy a new burn program or upgrade the roxio software i have for cd-rw's, but i'm not sure what to do next. i've heard bad things about MyDVD anyway (lack of audio compression i think) and good things about DVD X Copy. but i'd rather be more informed before i get something if that is what i must do
ideas?

MyDVD will not burn this type of DVD for you. What you did was great to get a DVD-9 disk ready to be copied to a DVD-5 disk. I have found that the latest version of NERO works very well for this. Open NERO and click on DVD video then click on new. Draq all the files that DVD Shrink made to the left window VIDEO folder, then click on burn. Thats all there is to it. NERO can be purchased at computer shows for about $15.00 US dollars. Hope this helps

what about the fact that i had to ditch the AC3 audio. is that just the facts of life with large dvd-9 discs? it only started as 7 or so gigs.
