  1. Greetings All,
I was wondering if someone could tell me how to prevent Ulead DVD Moviefactory2 and DVD Workshop from re-encodeing (transcode) my videos before burning my DVD discs.

    Thanks
    Steve

  2. Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 will only burn a movie DVD if the quality of the video file is MPEG2. If your video files are not MPEG2 DVD quality, Movie Factory will convert them for you, before it burns the DVD. NERO and other burning programs will not burn movie DVDs until the files are converted, by another software program, to DVD quality MPEG2 files.

  3. If your input file is DVD compliant it will not encode it.
It will say encoding in it's final steps but it is not. It is converting (or was it multiplexing?) your MPEG to VOB. If it take 20 minutes it is not re-encoding. The final size of VOBs should very close to the same your orginal MPEG.
