    I guys I have been told I can alter the settings on my Laser in my D.V.D.player which is an Alba 113. can anyone point me to the site which tells you how to proceed I have looked on Goggle with no luck thanks (Maurice

  3. sorry for the lack of information, I am trying to play an mpeg film I burnt with Nero and it will not play done all the basics to the dvd player but would not play I was told the next thing to do is alter the laser in the player Alba 113/ cheers (Maurice)

    Messing with the laser itself is something i would NOT do. There are warnings on the drive that talks on the dangers of radiation exposure if you tamper with the laser lens. The FCC has set standards on how strong the lasers on the DVD players should be, and tampering with it if you dont know what you're doing can be a hazard. And two, i do not believe that the laser has anything to do with playing the DVD format-wise, unless the laser lens is defective. All the laser does is just read/write information. You might want to check to see if the DVD you created will play on your PC first, or perhaps another DVD player to make sure it isnt a format issue.

  5. I guys I have played the film on my m8s dvd player which is a L.G. some one tells me that my machine the alba 113 is not compatible to play mpeg/vcd/svcd/ect ect only true dvd films and albums not sure if this is right only had the player for 6months

  6. See if your player is listed in the DVD players list (on the left of the page). If its there that should tell you what formats it will and will not play.

    And No, you can't do anything about it by 'adjusting the laser'
