I am trying desperately to use Ulead to cap my DV from my D8 VCR - I was using DVIO but all of a sudden - audio synch problems TOTALLY OUT OF THE BLUE, used to work fine, now it doesn't.

Ulead gives me great synch, but it is giving me Type 1 AVI and VirtualDub won't deal with it (handles the video only)

EVERY TIME I SET PREFERENCES TO TYPE 2, THE FILE STILL COMES OUT Type 1!

    help please.

    my settings:

    Field order A
    Microsoft AVI Files
    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
DV Video Encoder -- type 2
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Look in the Tools section for the Canopus DV File Converter. That will turn your Type 1 to Type 2.

I tried to use the converter (as a last resort, I really want to avoid the extra step as I have many many tapes to xfer) and it gave me serious audio problems. (parts out of synch, parts just blasting white noise)

    ps - anyone else?

how about another cap program other than Ul or DVIO?

    Well Drewson99 I'll try again!

If you want to use another program, try Scenalyzer Live. Its a great program and I believe they have a trial so you could make sure it works for you.
