    I have a Pioneer A04/104 DVD Burner.

I am looking for the best quality DVD-R media, price does not matter. I'm looking for the overall most stable and compatible blank disks possible.

    Thanks

  2. I've burned over 200 TDK 2x (Singles, 10-packs, or 15 pack spindles) and the only 1 or 2 costers were self induced.
    Cendyne/Pioneer 105 & 104 with a Dazzle* Hollywood DV-Bridge.

  3. I like Samsung BeAll, but I don't think they burn @ 2X in the Pioneer burner. You didn't specify if burn speed is a necessity.

Apple = Reliable, fast 2x, reasonable cost.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Apple disks are not really apple disk really and if you buy them you are over paying -- but they are good disks ..

but these are all the same disks - notice the big price spread depending whose name on it ..

If it's going to be once only (-R/+R) then I use Verbatim. If it's a disk I'm going to be re-using over and over (-RW/+RW) then security is not that much of an issue so I use Imation +RW (because the burn speed is 2.4x as opposed to 2x for -RW).

    Regards,

    Rob

Yes the BeAll's burn @ 2X in my DRU-500UL. I have the 2.0e firmware, but I believe it did since 1.0f. I've always just written on the tops of disks with a Sharpie, but I get the branded ones. I don't like the silver top disks for asthetic reasons. shop4tech has spindle packs of the branded media.

I recently purchased a spindle of Optodisk media, 80 cents a piece for 100 from rima.com. They burned @ 2X and had good compatibility with the set top players I tested.

  14. Well, if price is no object then why not just buy authentic Pioneer brand media?

What is wrong with those discs. I have burnt over 200 of those things now and lost one from its own faults and 2 that were my fault. Why the hell would someone want to spend more when those discs work for them. Your right i probably need a better job to. One that pays more, one that doesnt make me leave my family for a year to move to south korea. I hate people like you. so why dont you take your better discs and cram them sideways up your ass and stop ragging on people for not spending more when less works for them.

I've burnt several Pioneer DVD-Rs, and I've found the quality to be better that the Optodiscs,BeAlls, and Princos. But it's not significantly better, considering the price. The Pioneers load faster that Optodisc, and princos. Riteks are probably the best quality vs price choice, in my opinion. Although the Emtec discs I've burned had better than average (the three above)quality. And they're the same price as Optodiscs.
