  1. Hi, I've created several SVCDs with menus and chapters. Friend's DVD player cannot play them. **I do not want to start all over from capturing avi, editing and then encoding.** I have two questions:

    1. How can I convert the SVCD to VCD?
    2. If I want to maintain the quality of SVCD, how can I add a header trick?

    Thanks.

    Software:
Adobe Premiere Pro - capture stills & motion, edit, render
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 - edit stills
TMPGenc Plus 2.5 - encoding, splitting mpeg
VCDEasy 1.1.5 - stills to mpeg, interactive menu, SVCD cue/bin
    MOTV 2.10
    Nero 5.5.8.2 - burn image

  2. I simply followed the guide for doing so at this site in the 'convert' section for converting svcd to vcd.

However the svcd header trick didn't work on my player... but I was trying to put svcd files to dvd in that case, which I don't believe you're trying to do. Thus all my svcd to vcd conversions do take a loss in quality but its, for me anyway, negligible.

  3. Thanks. I was trying to convert them from SVCD to VCD without having to re-encode. I've not found a solution yet...
