    I'm using Studio 8, running on WinXP.
    I have problems capturing from my DV cam via firewire card.
    The image seems to be staggering and not smooth, even tho it doesnt display any frame drop counts, but actually it is.

    I dun have such problems when using Win98SE.

    What's wrong?

    Is the video file OK after the capture is done?

    I know some capture apps only show a "rough" preview while capturing, like 15 fames per second.

    If the files are skipping in exactly the same place every time you view the video, I'd say you do have some dropped frames.

    Try watching them on a different PC.
