  1. Hi all, just wondering if someone's come across this. VCDEasy is supposed to fit 800 MB mpeg2 files as 80mins on a 700MB CD right? Well, when I burn a 690MB file on a 700MB (80min) CD my recorder burns just fine. When I try to burn a 790MB movie file on the same size CD, VCDEasy runs through the burning process just fine but just spins the CD at the end and doesn't release it. This happens regardless of whether I'm burning VCDs or SVCDs. Any ideas?

    TIA

    hi,
this is only my personal experience. i tried a lot of options and i realised that you can't burn more that 78 min and 10 sec on 80 mins disc as VCD. correct me if i am wrong and give some advice if you can burn longer clips.

Your CD burner may be "pickey" when you get close to the limit. Using VCDEasy I burn 815mb on a regular basis, but I have a Lite-on drive and always have "allow overburn" checked. I suggest you do some testing, maybe with a 70minute CD-RW disk to determine how high your burner can go. You may find 790mb is just a little too high(for your burner) and something like 780mb may work.

  5. hwoodwar, that's exactly the problem. if the mpeg file is one byte over 700mb the burner wont spit it out afterwards. i'm forced to set the file split size at 690MB in DVD2SVCD because the 740 and 800 settings won't work (i.e. VCDeasy will accept them but the burner will lock up at the end of the burning session). The burner is an old HP CDWriter 7500.

    TIA
