I am converting a few movies, most of which are about 100-110 minutes. I am using the Svcd template from tmpgenc but the files are enormous, about a gig each. I am also doing this at 480x480 and not 720x480. How do I get it to be xSVCD? Does the size of the file sound right?

try the setting 2450 bitrate and audio at 192, and if your CD recorder will allow, try the 99min. CD-R's from Compusa, I can get movies at this length with that setting on 2 CD-R's, don't record the credits, just a waste of very important space.
