I installed MMC 7.7 in this fashion:

    1. Deinstalled my ATI Drivers for AIW 128 Pro
    2. Installed WDM Capture Driver version 6.14.01.6178v1 (do I need the 6184v1 driver for the Radeon cards instead?)
    3. Installed ATI Driver for AIW 128 PRO
    4. Installed MMC 7.7
    5. Do I need to install ATI Control Panel?

Everything worked like the CD and File Player but the TV tuner didn't work. To make it worse, after installing the ATI Control Panel, my screensaver wouldn't work and I would get hangs on my machine and would be killing processes from the task manager.

Question: Do I need to load XP SP1 and DX9 for MMC 7.7 to work correctly with AIW 128 Pro? What steps would you suggest I take. I have just installed MMC 7.1 from my CD and TV tuner now works fine. I really wanted the new features from MMC 7.7.

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and regards,

A while back I was told by ATI that anything above MMC 7.2 was not for the AIW 128 Pro. I also installed MMC 7.6 and 7.7 with a lot of problems and had to go back to 7.2. It was then that I purchased the Hauppaugh WinTV-PVR-250 card and software to get MPEG-2 and DVD capture settings, that the 128 Pro could not do.

  3. There is a XP drive update at: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
    For non-Radeon ATI AIW cards.
My TV tuner started playing after I made this update and rebooted.
Yes, MMC 7.7 works with non-Radeon ATI AIW cards.
FYI!! MMC 8.X only works Radeon ATI AIW cards.

  4. Install DVD player first then MMC else tuner will not work
