Just incase you dont know this: DVD2ONE is not freeware. You will have to buy it. But, its probably the best purchase you can make for your mac

there are other ways, but you will not be able to do a 1 disk dvd to a 1 disk dvd.

There are two things to consider when copying dvd's

    1. How large is the dvd backup file. Older dvd's (those with shiny double sides where 1 side is widescreen and the other is standard) can simply be backed up and then burned - no processing required. This only works for the older ones and your dvd back up will be around 4.5 gigs in size.

    2. If its a newer dvd, one with an etched design on the top of the disk, it will HAVE to have some sort of encoding done for it to fit onto a single dvd-r (because a dvd-r is only 4.7 gigs) where your backup file can be anywhere from 6 to 9 maybe even more (i had one that was 15 gigs!) Thus you need a program like DVD2ONE inorder to encode the dvd down to a size that will fit onto one dvd-r

hope this helps make it a little clearer.

Dvd2one is great for dvd-9 to dvd-5 conversion
DiscomVOBulator and DiscomVOBulatorPlus are great for dvd-9 to 2 dvd-5
(takes a dvd and turn its into EXACT copy on two dvd-5's
both of these you have to purchase

You can also use other programs like Forty-Two and ffmpegx, but they require a lot of know how and time

Honestly, its worth the price for DVD2ONE for mac dvd to dvd copying.
