  1. Hi,

Sometimes I decrypt a dvd using dvd decrypter and I get a directory with all the *.IFO and *.VOB , but in other ocations, I get an MOVIE.ISO and MOVIE.MDS

Questions and sorry if they are stupid:
    1) Why in some cases I get the IFO and in others the ISO?
    2) in the case of the ISO, I cannot open it with instant copy, and since it is a DVD 9 backup, I cannot copy it with DVDDecrypter.

    Regards,

if you use Decrypter in File Mode, you will get all .ifo, .vob, .sub, etc.

if you use Decrypter in ISO mode, you will get .iso and .mds files.

my rule of thumb is if it's a dvd-5, use ISO mode, if it's a dvd-9, use File mode.

  3. There is no stupid questions.

In DVD Decrypter you can select File, IFO or ISO
Just select the type you want in MODE.

Don't forget: if you want a full movie, go to EDIT and select: SELECT ALL

Next time when you open up decrypter click on the mode at top. When it is in IFO mode you will get the VOB and IFO files. From there you can use another tool to compress the movie before burning. That is if it is a DVD9 or dual layered. If you check the ISO read mode it will first tell you if the disc is single or dual layered. If it is single layered you can copy the files to your hard drive, this gives you the ISO and MDS files, from there you can click mode ISO write navigate to the file you generated in the ISO read step and burn directly to disc using the Decrypter. Again this is only if it is a single layered DVD. There are guides on this site that show you exactly what to do, with of course a screen grabs of decrypter in action. Good luck!

  5. Thanks for the quick answers!
Now it seems that I ripped a DVD 9 in ISO Mode since I got the ISO and MDS...
There is a way that I can transform the ISO/MDS file into IFO/VOB/SUB in order to be able to work with instant copy.
Of course that is not ripping the dvd again

if you find a tool to open or extract from .iso files created with DVD Decrypter, post it here, as I've had no luck with WinISO or ISO Buster....
