Pinnacle instantcopy with WindowsXP

Does anyone have any ideas why this program crashes when used with a screen saver on WindowsXP. When I remove the screen saver the program works fine.
I've never had a problem with Windows2000 and a screen saver.

Seems like a DDT to me (Don't do that) - how many crashes occur on your system that you actually know why (which is what you asked)?

All you do is figure out what things not to do together or in sequence, and deal with it. You already know the answer - don't run a screensaver (I can't verify that it happens - I don't run one - I do know it's fine if you just let the monitor power down instead of running a screensaver).

Thanks for the response. I just thought that maybe someone would have an actual solution. Not every problem can't be solved.

Also, the other reason for needing the Screen saver is to password protect it. To keep certain people away.

CTRL+ALT+DEL and select lock. Much less overhead on system resources !!

I'm sure I've seen somewhere that you have to disable your screensaver when using IC

maybe it was on the Pinnacle support forum

have you looked in instantcopy under menu GENERAL and then OPTION where is a check box for screen savers.

Thanks for the response. Something like you mentioned worked. CTRL+ALT+DEL did not bring up the menu with the option of select lock, don't know why, I have seen that menu on other XP systems. So i just looked for something with the same idea and came up with just switching users. That keeps all my work and settings intact. Thanks for leading me in the right direction and trying to come up with a solution instead of saying "don't do that".

I think you can lock a workstation ifyou rcomputer is setup that way
