    Blockbuster carries this player and is on sale for $49.99. I just want to know if it plays AVI file format? Nobody seems to know from Blockbuster stores and couldn't find 800 numbers to confirm.

    The Magnavox 450SL ($59.99 also from Blockbuster) does play AVI files but it's so hot that I couldn't find one here in town.

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

    Went out yesterday and bought one at Blockbuster and tried it, doesn't play avi.

    Also bought the Magnavox 450SL ($59.99 at Blockbuster) and that one doesn't play avi either. Strangely my colleague's one play avi files and so does some other people posted in DVD player list under this model.

    Guess I have to keep looking for one that will play avi files and cheap.
