  1. Been having trouble going avi to vcd, I use tmpgenc to convert to mpeg then burn using Nero. My most common error is the resulting vcd will freeze up my windows media player, or when put in my dvd player will show nothing and the time elapsed counter will advance rapidly.

Am I missing a step in the process? ...Is de-multiplexing only needed when the file needs to be split? I've only tried it with small files that would easily fit on 1 cd. I'm using files downloaded from Kazaa, could it be the source avi's are bad?

    Thanks.

Like Conquest10 implies, we can't tell if you missed a step b/c we don't know your process. More detail would help.

Every 2nd file from Kazaa (some would say more like all) is bad. Did you scan and remove bad frames first?

  4. Sounds like your problems might be being caused by bad frames but without knowing your exact method I cannot be sure.

You can find a guide on the left about removing bad frames using virtual dub.
