  1. How do I burn XSVCD or XVCD movies, di I loose any quality??
Why should/shouldn't I choose these formats instead of VCD and SVCD?

Doesn't matter - as long as you get it to disc. Some (including me) will say that you should burn at lower than max speed, but that's a matter of discussion...

If you're not satisfied with the quality you get from (S)VCD, you may "go X" if you:
Are prepared to experiment to find out how much "X" your player can take.
Don't care if your CD will play on your friends DVD (or any others) or not.
Don't care if your next DVD player will play your CDs.

I don't burn XVCDs because my player won't accept them, it will only handle standard VCD disks.

Never saw a 1 CD movie that was VCD/xVCD/SVCD/xSVCD that didn't suck badly. And by Movie, I mean in excess of 100 minutes. I have some acceptable 80 minute xVSVCD's (that's not a typo, they are VCD resolution with SVCD codec in 2-pass VBR) that look VHS.

What is the effing obsession with 1 CD movies? It must be those oppressive countries that charge the equivalent of $5 US for a blank CDR. Yes, you can put 80 minutes onto a VCD, but the quality is mediocre at best. If you want 1 disk only, go with DVDR, otherwise get used to 2-4 disks for (x)SVCD.
