  1. Ok, i'm the new guy, but i've don a ton of reading and still can't figure out what i have done wrong. I have and xvid version of lord of the rings and i can get the 2nd file to work just fine, but the first file works in windows with media player and not after i encode it. When i encode it with tmpeg (i use virtualdub on the audio first), i get the first 6 minutes of video and then a black screen, but the audio is still there. ANY SUGGESTIONS, woud be greatly appreciated.

  2. Try frameserving it from virtualdub to TmpGenc. There is a guide on how to do this in the convert section.

Your AVI is corrupt, you need to fix it before you can encode it.

  5. Use vdub - load the file in scan the stream for errors then save it back out. That normally fixs bad frames.

Sometines you need to chop out the bad section but thats when it gets messy.

If the file is mp3 use the mp freeze version or Vdubmod

  6. I have heard about that file being corrupt a LOT of the time before I bet that you will go through loads of guides and still not be able to fix the file. The only way I found to rectify the problem was to download the file again from scratch.
