    simple.

rip side 1 and move the files to a directory 1

rip side 2 and move the files to s directory 2

rename the files in directory 2 as follows: vts_01_001.vob, _002.vob etc.

open vobedit and join the files in directory 2. make sure the VOBID as requested by vobedit is 1 more than the last vobid in the last vob file in directory 1. Rename the vob files output of vobedit as VTS_01_5.vob, 6.vob (assuming 1_4.vob was the last file in directory 1).

now run ifoedit and create new ifo files.

    run dvd2one.
    all the best

  4. yes hello, i got another quick but very important question
i did exactly whats been described in the guide on the reply above
I let IC7 create an image file to check out if everything was ok before going to the actual burning process
and everything is indeed ok except for the fact that when he goes to the first scene which was originally on the b-side of the dvd, you first see that Warner Bros screen again
is there any way to delete this without doing the whole process over again?
    thx

That should not have happened but you may be able to strip it out. Using vobrater see if you can find where it is located by opening the vob files.
If it has its own ID # then you can use IFOedit to strip it out.

  6. Hey DenverDog!

I did the exact same thing 2 days ago for Stargate. 1 problem however, at the end of disk 1, before disk 2 there is the movie promo. Runs fine but one of those things that bug you. Did that happen to you?

i found out that the warner bros thing is within my VTS_01_4.VOB, i checked that with vobrater
but i cant open that file with IFOedit since it doesnt have a ifo on its own
I only got one ifo file and opening with IFOedit it only reveals one title set
And i dont think u can strip that warner bros thing with that file alone, at least i sure as hell dont know how to
So what the f#^$^am i doing wrong?!

When you opened VTS_01_4.VOB using vobrater and found the warner logo was it on its own VOB Cell ID# or was it meshed with the movie?

IFOedit can strip out the warner logo if it has its own VOB ID#. Just open VTS_01_0.IFO and choose output dir. and copy menus and choose strip it. The next screen will allow you to strip lang. if you want and the next screen will show the VOB ID#'s. You then choose the vob ID that the warner is on......and BANG.....it will be gone. Just move any other files from original dir to new dir if you had extras incl. and go back into IFOedit and open the TS.IFO or any IFO file and click GET_VTS sectors......and then you can burn.

    FoolishBrett,

At the beggining of side2 delete that file. If you notice at the end of side 1 there is a soldier standing there, and at the begging of sid2 it has the promo then him there for a few secs

uhm...when i open it in vobrator i can see my file VTS_01_4.VOB with two strings attached to it: VOB (ID=1) and VOB (ID=2), they both have a whole bunch of strings attached to them too
now when i highlight the VOB (ID=2) and press the play button, i can see the Warner logo getting played

the only thing i wanna do is to delete that VOB (ID=2)
i never expected it would be so complicated

  11. If it is at the end of side one or at the beginning of side two, then you should be able to crop it out using DVDShrink.

    Abatino,

When you played ID#2 was the warner logo the only thing that played?
I am pretty sure it did which means your entire movie is Vob ID 1.

All you have to do is strip vob ID 2 out. This is by memory so I may forget exact name of buttons but what you do is:

Open IFOedit and open VTS_01_0.IFO. Click on vob extras at bottom of screen. This open another window where you choose your destination dir. make sure you have a lot of space because it will duplicate everything you currently have except for warner logo which will be small.
Have the following checked at top:

    strip vob ID's
both the correct....... options just below strip vob ID's

On the right side for VOB expert options click all except the angle one.

near the bottom click auto copy menu files.

    Now just hit OK.
A window should pop up with VOb 1 and 2 so choose vob 1 as the one to keep and continue.

When done.....there will be no more warner logo.

    Abatino,

That happened to me the first time as well. The error I did was not upping the vob ID when joining side B. I posted a link higher up.....if you follow that you will get it to work.

  16. I've tried doing this with 2-sided discs and also with Bridge On The River Kwai (R1) which uses two title sets on one disc for the movie (weird).

It works, but there's no chapters. If I enable the option for one chapter for each cell then I get hundreds.

What's the proper way to do this?

So... I open Vobedit "click" open and select the first vob "VTS_01_5.vob" in the second directory. I assume this will load ALL the VTS files into Vobedit, in this case VTS_01_5 throught VTS_01_8.

    Join the Files
There seems to be two items to click in the edit menu that use the word "Join"...Join CellVob Files OR Join Clip... which do you use?
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  18. The latest version of DVDshrink (version 3.0 beta 5 I think) allows you to do this easy (per other posters). I haven't done it myself yet but I may give it a go later this week on some backups I made using DVDX Copy that split the movie into two discs.
