  1. I have just got Canopus ADVC 100. Very nice bit hardware with absolut good result. But when try to capture with Adobe Premiere 6.5 or ULead VideoStudio 7, I have big problems.

Premiere: Program start, but when i try to setup the project program crash.
    VideoStudio: Program crach when started.

My FireWire (IEEE 1394 OHCI Compliant) are builtin on motherboard. ASUS P4PE.
What I can see, the IEEE 1394 comes from VIA.

I also have Hauppauge WinTV PVR installed, but I don't like to useage it for capture any more (maybe only as TV card).

I have tried to uninstall and disable Hauppauge capture drivers, and disable the IEEE 1394 port in Bios. But VideoStudio 7 crach anyway when start.

    Hardware:
Motherboard: ASUS P4PE with integratet Sound, Network and FireWire (VIA IEEE 1394)
    CPU: Intel P4 2800MHz
    Memory: DDR 1024MB
    Graphics: Matrox Parhelia 512 MB
    Harddisk: IDE 180 GB IBM
    DVD: Sony DRU-500AX
    TVCard: Hauppauge WinTV PVR
    External Canopus ADVC-100

    OS: Windows XP Professional SP1

    Software:
Tried: Adobe Premiere 6.5 (crach when capture)
Tried: ULead VideoStudio 7 (crach when start).
    Windows MovieMaker 2 (work well).
ULead MovieFactory 2 (work well even when capture).

    Please help me.
    Sorry for my english
    Best regards

  2. Well you didn't skimp on putting that computer togeather, how bout the PSU? What's the wattage of your Power Supply Unit? Sounds to me like you may have insufficient power to run all that kewl stuff you've got there.
You should be running a 400 watt+ PSU for all that stuff.

Also try turning off all programs running in the background before doing any video capture. Try using enditall2. A very kewl little utility.

  3. The external Canopus ADVC-100 are using own power. There are no any problem at all with the power, I'm soure. Yes I have put the things togeather by my self. But I'm hardware techniker, so I already test that. My powersupply are on 400W. I have also hard to belive that the power are usage different when use Movie Maker 2 thats work, then usage Adobe Premiere 6.5 or VideoStudio 7. Right?

I'm newbe on capturing, but not on computers or hardware.
I have also turn every program off. Even those in background/tray.
(EndItAll was nice thanks for that tips )

But thanks a lot any way.
    Best regards
