Hey tgpo, I'm amazed the "...try harder" option hasn't taken more of the share of the votes
You want any comedy tips pal you come see me, I'll help you out

Despite the flaming I'm gonna' get (but don't give a shit for) I think the US has adopted a lot of the UK comedy style.
It wasn't long ago all you had were sitcoms with toilet humour or some black stand-up guy bleating on about how funny the whites are or some white guy whining about how long it took him (Steve Martin for instance) to get to work on a morning.
Then, you produce the Simpsons which is by far the most British humour you'll ever see, you remake Red Dwarf (badly) and import a whole host of comedy and embrace it as your own
I would give you examples but as the US is so vast I fear my examples won't have reached some parts of your country and therefore may appear as bad examples.
I won't fall into that trap!

1. tgpo should... get a raise. Always nice to see you on the site.
2. tgpo should... keep his Mac. As much as I hate to admit it, a Mac does better video work than the PC. I should know. I use both.
3. tgpo should... comb his hair for his next photo. :PI'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored. -
Example: Who's Line Is It Anyway, Trading Spaces, Junkyard Wars....just to name a few
But I don't see how The Simpsons stole UK humor. Can't we all just get along? :P
Wow, 2 emotions. New record for me.

I think it has to do with the fact that only mods can post topics in this forum. Thus only we can edit them. But in all the other forums people can post topics and edit them.

Two very important poll options added.

I vote to keep my mac....
Or buy a new one when they start using the new chips discussed under the new benchmarks. In which a 1.4Ghz PPC chip beats a P4 3ghz in all the stuff I use. :P -
hey tgpo, what does that 'oha' emoticon mean, is it some US thing, Hawaii perhaps?
I've no idea man, laugh all you want

I was trying to figure out how old that pic is.
The dates on the calendar as best as I can make out seem to map to 2003 but the monitors/terminals on the shelf look like (sorry for the use of the term but that's what we called them) "dumb terminals". We used those back about (cough cough) xx years ago. Now that tells you something about me.
Plus there is the fact that you now say that you don't have those sides anymore. Now maybe you lopped them off in the last few months but maybe not??? hmmmm????
:P :PThere's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway. -
Calender on the left is for 2003
The videos behind my right shoulder(the left of the picture) are 3/4 Umatic tapes that I am converting to DVD.
The Two monitors on the top right of the picture are studio monitors hooked up to a Sony 3/4 Umatic Tape Recorder and a Panasonic DVD Recorder.
My sideburn were only recently cut, as was my hair. But it's still not combed
Other things in the picture are a firestore DV Harddrive Capture Deck, and a Cannon DV Camera in a case.
That's about it I guess. The picture was taken only like a month ago, so it's not too old. -

Dumb terminals are hanging on in a lot more places than you'd expect... universities (there's a bank of them in the library hooked into the telnet email and catalogue servers), hospitals, um.. ah.. godammnit.
Ok well they're still used in hospitals and universities in any case.
As are the Phillips RGB monitors which those guys bear more than a passing grey-cased resemblance to
But TGPO, the pressing question is, what the heck is Umatic tape?-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -
