  1. I have some wmf, wich are password protected(i have the PW), when i want to see them, windows mediaplayer asks for a username and password. After entering the correct ID &PW it connects to the internet and searches for a licence. Once granted, i can see the clip.

I would like to put this file on a vcd, to view on my DVD-player. However no program to burn or convert I used will open the clip.

How can I put it on vcd ?

Windows medio encoder can transcode this to AVI, from there you can do VCD. However, the license software won't let you convert it. There's 'other' was to deal with this, but it's outside the scope of this post. Do a WWW search for tools/techniques. Generally speaking you don't 'own' videos like this.

The guide for WMV conversion uses WME, and it won't ignore digital rights.

The easiest way is to change the WMV extension to ASF and try the ASF to AVI converter. Then you have to deal with the M$ mpeg4 codec in an AVI wrapper, but VDUB should open it to frameserve. This may not work.

The real way to do it is

using graphedit. Just build a filter and voila, off you go. This is advanced technique, but there are numerous articles on how to do it.
