  1. Downloaded "The Two Towers" screener on a pair of avi files compressed with x-vid. Used MainConcept Encoder to convert them to mpgs. Used MovieFactory2 to convert the mpgs to vobs. Used DVD2One1.1.3 to slightly compress each vobset to 90% of original size(otherwise would be 9.3Gb,too large for the 3 appz in question to process,as I discovered). Used Vobedit to merge them to 8.4Gb and IFOedit to write the new IFO files. Then I started my experiment; to burn the 8.4Gb file onto a 4.7Gb DVD-R using each program to see which result I would keep. InstantCopy7 yielded a 3.8Gb file that had definite noticable tiny "blocks". DVD2One had none of that, but seemed to have an occasional irritating "fog" across the screen. DVD95Copy had a very slight degree of the "tiny blocks", but no "fog". I kept the DVD95Copy disk. My conclusion: Uninstalled InstantCopy7,DVD2One had the fastest speed and selectable filesize, but DVD95Copy has the best quality.

  2. Please, I said Please, stop it with all these comparisions,
convert them anyway you like, and try to help everyone
troubleshoot their problems, cant compare these three
without leaving scores of others out, like shrink and the
rest, especially with a "screener" you illegally downloaded....

  3. Fog? I use all of the nice programs we have available with the exception of IC. I still have IC on the computer but just never use it (too darn slow).

  4. I count at least 3 "comparison" posts on the 1st 2 pages alone. If that is what people want to talk about, so be it. Inquiring minds want to know!
