I want to cut out the credits with DVDshrink and do the re-encoding with DVD2one. But then comes DVD2one with an error message: Encrypted data detected, DVD2one can not decrypt protected data. This happens in both the 'movie only' and the 'full disk' mode. Do I something wrong or is this simply impossible?

You need to decrypt the DVD first with DVD Decrypter. Save all the files on the DVD to the hard drive first then run DVD Shrink and finally DVD2one. You should get the results you are looking for.

It simply will not work. I tried with practically every version of DVDShrink and DVD2One for about a week and a half. No matter what you do you will always get the encryption error when you feed DVD2One the DVDShrink-produced files. Even if you first decrypt the original files with DVDDeCrypter or SmartRipper or if the original DVD was non-encrypted the resulting DVDShrink-produced files will give the encryption error in DVD2One. If you feed these files through SmartRipper it will not find any encryption.
The big question is... who's to blame? DVDShrink for producing files that look like they have encryption in them? Or DVD2One for giving a false positive result?
I'm leaning more toward it being a DVD2One problem. I'm guessing that it won't be fixed anytime soon, if at all. What incentive would the folks at DVD2One have to fix something that might encourage us to use a freeware competitor's product with their product. If it wasn't for DVD2One's superior compression algorithm it would be left the dust by this feature-laden free program. -
Thanks Gripweed. At least I know now that others have the same problem. Your analysis and conclusion could be right. Hey guys of DVD2one... what about a crop tool in DVD2one??

You can drop credits and whatever else you want with DVD Shrink. I can't imagine using any of those other progs being disscussed. Just crop out the creidts if you would like, eliminate any other extra space hogin files, unneeded audio tracks and rip it. Then use Nero, the latest ones, grab a keygen for it in KAZZA or whatever. Choose your DVD burner as the default burner, choose DVD Video as the burning choice a,d drag the files DVD shrink produced to the VIDEO_TS folder the NERO creates. Nothing goes in thet AUDIO_TS folder. Clik on BURN and it should be done in about an hour. I have burn a perfect DVD every time using just those two progs. It's easy as hell and I don;t have to screw around with multiple programs when just two will do. If the whole Movie fits, I use DVD+Copy and just use the built in burning engine. I've 100% succsses and it only takes ONE prog. Keep it SIMPLE you guys!!!
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
I don't remember if the re-authoring part has this or not... But why don't you try to UNCHECK all the regions... That is probably what's causing the encryption on the dvd... If you did uncheck the first time and got that mistake, then check them... It has to be that...
If it's not that -- then... make an iso of the DVD Shrink output... use DVD Decryter or SmartRipper to rip it.. and feed that to DVD2ONE... Not worth it in my opinion...
