hello i need some help if possible.
i am trying to back up my orginal dvds to copies.
i am using dvd Decrypter and i have XP. I decrypt the flim and i get three system files 1 which is 2.96GB, another which is a winrar file 3.99GB and another which is 46KB.
i think the winrar (3.99GB) is the flim, I burn with the decrypter and i get parts of files. I think the file should not be a winrar file.
Could somebody suggest what i need to do, i am very new to this, i think also that dvd decrypter might not be for use with XP, is that my problem???

You can't get Smartripper or Dycrpter to work?

no i cant having a nightmare is there anything else i can do, i have just tries dvdxcopy but i find i am using 2 disks and takes a very long time.

DVDXCOPY is not that slow. It's faster than re-encoding.
So you tried that link but, you don't end up with the same types of files that the guide is talking about?Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
i have just been speaking to somebody else they tell me its because i am ripping to a FAT32 drive, would make sense.
If so how can i change this. -
It doesn't sound like your problem. Cause I don't recall seeing a *.rar file being ripped from a dvd.
Anyway, YES fat32 is a problem. It will not let you work with files over 4gig. But, since you have Win XP you can convert.

I've done the conversion myself. It's up to you if you want to convert your system.Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
i have another problem, and thanx for the help last time
i have now tried to use dvd2one i used the guide when doing this, i finished decrypting the flim with dvd decrypter then used dvd2 one and everything went plan.
i opened up copy to dvd and found the file that is said to burn video file i think, this file had no icon just a square and was only 60kbs.
Then i burned this file and when it finidhed i had to errors, could somebody please help me because i think i got everything right apart from burning. Obvious it didnt play, Should i have a burning Icon. -
Sounds like that was just the ifo file. For a DVD, you should have ifo, bup and vob files. The ifo files are "maps" or information on how to play the DVD - the bup files are just "b"ack"up"s of the ifo files and the vob files are the "v"ideo "ob"jects (video and audio multiplexed). For a feature length movie, there are usually at least 3 or 4 vob files each 1 GB in size and at least 1 ifo and bup file. All these files should be located in a single folder named VIDEO_TS (yes all caps) at the root of the drive. There is also a folder at the root of the drive called AUDIO_TS but this folder is usually empty for a feature film. I am a newbie as well but I think I have explained this correctly. No offense if someone want's to correct me or add something I missed.

i am using the program Copyto DVD and then go down to write dvd video then i open the detn file and i can only see a VIDEO TS file which is 60kb and on the tutorial it is telling me to burn this, and when i did it didnt work
-
Ok, you do know you need to open the VIDEO TS file and select the files inside it.
Try Nero for burning. Or Deycrpter.
