How can I get my AVI/DIVX to convert to DVD. I tried once before along time ago but the audio was offset. Any help? THX

What you do is look over to the left hand column of this page. There you will find a heading 'HOW TO'. Under that you will find several sub headings. Click on the one you think appropriate for your needs (converting would probably be a good place to start) and read a few of the guides. Try following one or two and if you run into problems, then by all means come back here and ask specific questions about particular problems.

Once you have go a converting method working to your satisfaction, you will want to work on the authoring and burning parts of the process. Once again our old friend the left hand column comes in handy here.

Is there a program that is recomended

This stuff can be tricky and there is no single button type application that will work all the time. If you really want to do this stuff and do it properly, read some of the guides, try some of the tools discussed (most are freware/shareware or demo), experiment and learn.
