  1. I have had a few avi files, that firstly when I convert them, when it gets to a certain part of the file in the converting process, the picture freezes, but the audio continues right to the end of the file even though the picture is frozen. When I view the avi file on the computer using Windows Media Player, it goes straight past the past where it freezes when it gets converted, without any problems.

Is there any program, that will convert avi files when they have a bad frame or two, and just like continue with the picture. Like say there is bad frames on frames 111111 to 111125, it just keeps converting to mpeg with the audio like it seems to be doing, but then when the bad frames end, the picture starts back up as it would normally be. So in other words the picture would freeze for a few frames, and then continue as normal afterwards.

I use TMPEG Enc to encode to MPEG, as I can't play non standard vcd's on my dvd player, but just on a few files I get, it only gets to a certain frame, and the picture freezes and sound continues. If I delete the bad frames, it skips a fair bit in picture and audio, where as if the few bad frames could be kept, then atleast when it is in the middle of a conversation, atleast you could hear what that were saying and just not watch for a few seconds instead of the rest of the file.

Please let me know if you have any idea of a program to fix this issue.

    Thanks in advance

  2. I don't think it's a bad frame problem. I have had thousands hours of encoding sessions and encountered your problem only two or three times. For some inexplicable reasons, the encoder just didn't like one frame, which was perfectly good, and choked on it. Instead of spending countless hours trying to figure it out why, I simply skipped that trouble-making frame. It always worked out this way.
