  1. Hi Folks,

I just recently purchased Sonic Foundry's DVD Architect and used it to write DVD files to my hard disc. When using Nero (v5.5.10.20) to burn the DVD disc (using the Nero DVD-Video format type) I get the following errors.
    • File size is not a multiple of a logical block size (2 KB)
      DVD-Video files reallocation failed
Has anyone seen this behavior before with DVD Architect output and Nero? BTW, Nero gave me the option to ignore this error and continue to burn the disc. When I did ignore the error, the disc (DVD+RW) burned successfully and works in at least one DVD video player I tried. So at this point the issue is more of a curiosity than anything else.

Also, I tried burning directly from DVD Architect to my Dell branded NEC ND-1100A (firmware 10GE) and did not have good results. While the operation claimed to be successful, it went way too fast and resulted what appeared to be an empty DVD+RW disc.

    Thanks!

  2. That's correct!

DVD Architect creates vob-files öarger than Nero accepts. Therefore you'll get the Message. The best (and easiest) way to burn your DVD is to do it within DVD Architect.

Your second problem: Could it be a "speed-problem"? If you try burning DVD'S with i.e. 2xspeed but the DVD is only made for 1xspeed youl come into problems.

  3. I had the exact same problem using DVD Architect and NERO. The only way I found around it was to just use DVD Architect to burn the DVD... takes a little longer, but the results look fine!

I use DVD Architect and Nero 5.5.10.54 and have never encountered that problem. Try upgrading Nero to this version and see if that helps things.

Another solution might be to create a "DVD UDF/ISO" project instead of a "DVD-Video" project. (This was needed on earlier versions of Nero, and since it worked, I just kinda stuck with it.) Drag the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders into the project, and when you go to burn the disc, Nero will know it's supposed to be a DVD video and do the appropriate magic. (On the UDF tab in the Burn property sheet, make sure that the UDF version is set to 1.02 for widest compatibility.) This is what I do all the time, and have never had a problem.

I know I'm a little late here, but I have uses DVDA plenty of times with Nero and never had an issue burning. I burn my discs "DVD-ROM UDF 1.02" and it plays in most set top players.
