Hi!
I've followed the guide here on how to add permanent subtitles to a divx file(xvid+ac3). When I'm trying to open the vdr file in TMPGenc it says that it can't open it and that it is unsupported. I tried to use Virtual dub 1.43 instead of the latest version, but it amde no difference. I also tried to rename it to an avi file, but it still couldn't be opened.
The correct settings for an xvid file have been made in TMPGenc.
It worked fine before, but not any longer for some obscure reason.
How can I solve this?

Or if this can't be solved(although it used to work perfectly before), does anyone know of an alternative simple method of adding permanent subtitles?
I read the guide where you're supposed to use avi synth and vobsub but it all seemed very complicated.

Try changing the priority of the various file opening filters in Tmpgenc. Find them under options, environmental settings, vfapi plugins. Increasing the priority of the direct show filter ofetn fixes a lot of 'cannot open' type of problems tho I am not sure if it is the answer here. Play with them and see what happens.

I tried frameserving another divx file, which worked, strangely enough.
Earlier I had checked both of them for bad frames.
