You need to rip the WHOLE thing. It will save you from possible problems, and the time saved if you try anything else is negligible. The movie takes up most of the space anyway....

  3. hmmmm.....when i use DVD Decryper for PC, it highlights the necessary files for ripping and it saves quite a bit of time. instead of ripping 7 or 8 gigs, it rips like 4 or 5. like i said, i dont care if i get everything (extras, subtitles, etc).....i want just the movie VOBs and files.

  4. You are not saving that much time ripping just the movie, maybe just 5 min or so.....once you rip the entire dvd, run DvD2OneX and select "Movie Only" and you will get just the movie.....doing it any other way will not better anything, or save you that much time......most of the rip time is the movie anyway, all the extra's usually go pretty fast....

If you are really bent on just ripping the movie, then it will usually be the title set with 1gb files, usually 4 to 6 of them...don't forget to include other nessescary files as well ( this is why it is usually easier to rip the entore DvD, no need to worry if you got all the files or not)....

  5. Technically, for some DVDs, DTOX does seem to work in Movie Only mode if just the VIDEO_TS set and the VTS set for your movie "get ripped" (now THERE's a good software name).

So, if you have a huge DVD to work on, and you only want the main movie title, you can remove all the other VTS sets from your DVDBackup window and just do the main title.

However, be aware that plenty of DVDs are authored so that more than one title is embedded in a set of VTS .VOBs, so this isn't a foolproof method.

Sure, 1) give it a try if you want to shave off as much time as possible; then 2) be prepared to rip the rest of the files if it doesn't work...
