  1. i would like to make a vcd w/ menus.
i have a video(mpeg1) and a trailer of it (also mpeg1) and an image to use as the menu.

the image has spots to be clicked to play either. does vcd builder allow this and if so how.

  2. Killfire -

VCD doesn't allow for clickable spots, but you can create a menu with numbered entries where the numbers call up that track.

e.g. I have a jpg I created 3 black rectangles on it, then wrote on those in white lettering (so it showed up well)
    1. "MPEG Video"
    2. "2nd MPEG Videotrack"
    3. "The Slideshow I created wholly within VCDBuilder form extant jpgs"

viewer pushes 1, they get "MPEG Video," etc.

    VCDBuilder is an excellent tool.

thank you very much. by the way, do VCD's not allow clickable menus or does VCD builder not allow them?

  4. I'm pretty sure it's the VCD spec that doesn't allow for clickable menus.

(If it was within the spec, I'm pretty sure VCDBuilder would do it.)

The VCD spec (in version 2.0) does allow for such hotspots but they're exceptionally difficult to author. The PC program VideoPack 4 authored VCD hotspots, but the program itself was so counter-intuitive, it was hard to figure it out.

Then your settop VCD would have to support such hotspots.
