    Use dvd decryptor,dvd2one and recordnow max for doing dvd backups
    but this movie i have is 2 layer (mr deeds) but when i run it through dvd decryptor movie only files it is under the limit for a blank dvd-r so can i just miss out the dvd2one bit and just burn the video-ts folder created with dvd decryptor with recordnow max ....

    You were lucky that after stripping streams the movie was under 4.37GB's. Most will not be and will require compression with DVD2ONE or DVD95COPY.
