I've been using Showbiz to make home movies, using a combination of avi video and wav files ripped from cds. I'm using the highest quality settings available -- 2 channel, 44.1 khz, 16 bit. I'm not sure what any of that means. The sound quality on the resulting mpeg2 files is lousy. The source file sounds fine. Do I need to use a different encoder to get better sound quality? Most people on this board seem to rave about TMPGEnc, but I've also read some complaints about its sound quality, too.
