  1. LOTR extended backup.

I decrypt dvd 1&2, movie files only, rename vob files 001 to 013 and place them in a working folder.

Then I use Vobedit to join these files together; I am left with vob 01 to 13.

I use ifoedit to create ifo, then change all audio and subtitles to English language. I then save. I then get vts sectors and resave.

When I play the dvd files in powerdvd its okay, but will only play upto 2hrs45mins? (of the3 1/2 hr movie)

I actually created a working backup using this method, but the subs were not right so I deleted it!

Can you see any reason why this should not work? Have you come across anything like this before?

Like I said the green subs were my main problem, but now I can't get back to where I was in the first place!

    Thanx for helping.

  2. I used dvdo2one to process the dvd, (12GB worth), and the resulting 3.25GB file, (even though I set it to 4.4GB!), seems to play okay.

PowerDVD must accept correct DVD sized movies only, (9.4GB max)! I never considered this.
