Hi,
I use a Pioneer 105 with 2x4all firmware
1 - DVDDecrypter to D:\Rip
2 - DVD2One 1.1.2 from D:\Rip to D:\DVD
3 - Nero from D:\DVD to Ritek 4x G04 DVD-R
4 - Playback in Philips DVDQ50 DVD Player
I often find that once or twice during playback the movie jumps or skips.
I was wondering if the heavy disk usage in step 2 was causing a corruption in the final files?
Does anyone else find movies jump now and again with your backup methods?
Thanks for any views.
Floob.

nothing personnel but might be the burner and the media combination my buddy has a pioneer A04 and everyone of his -R's jumped or locked up in any DVD player I tried them on and any +R's I have given him in return has always played back fine, guess I just got the right combination.

hmm yeah I guess, but I'm sure some people have had success with their Pioneer drive.
I'm wondering if its Nero causing the problems. I'm using the latest version. I may try copytodvd instead. Perhaps it burns a little differently or something. -
I have the Pioneer 105 drive and rip with SmartRipper then use either DVDshrink, DVD2one, or DVD95 Copy to process the files finally burning 4x Ritek media with RecordNow Max. Playback is perfect on all three different players I have at home and also on my family members players.

Ive had a 104 and now have a 105, no problems at all apart from the crappy Bulkpaq, light dye DVD's, always used Ritek G03's and G04's since (dark dye
)
and I've used Nero since day 1 too with no problems either
I always thought that the only problem is that Nero created non complaint DVD's that didn't play for some people, not DVD that skip and jump
that to me either sounds like a media problem, (probable cause) ir a fussy standalone or a combination of both
if it ain't those 2 I would check the DVD previous to burning and make sure that seems ok
does the DVD playback on the computer ok cos DVD-ROM's are normally quite good with iffy media or poorly burnt DVD's. Have you tried playing it in the burner or another DVD-ROM?
also have a real close look at the DVD in the light by twisting it and make sure the burn is perfect and you cannot see any imperfections (you may be surprised if you do see some)
I always clean my DVD's orevious to burning cos even freshly unwrapped they can be contaminated with dust etc
