hello to all i have this firewire card it was prinstalled in my computer how is this card can this card encode my movies to vcd and dvd and can anyone pls help me in finding the latest driver of this card

I have that exact card. I bought it under the name SIIG at Fry's electronics. Mine works great for cuptureing DV. Maybe you can find drivers at the SIIG website http://www.siig.com/. Anyway the card has no encoding power or software. You need software like Ulead Video Studio or others to encode.

Win XP recognized my card and already had the basic drivers. Not sure about Win 2000 and Win 98 probaly doesn't have the drivers.

I may be mistaken but I am pretty sure the driver is the same one from windows 98 thru XP. Search as you may, they don't exist...Been there , done this...LOL

thank u everybody for ur answers but just one more question is ther any software wich can directly encode to vcd or dvd through firewire as we all can do through svideo and usb pls do answer thanking u all hello

I use Ulead Video Studio 7 to encode from DV directly to VCD format. I can also edit the video and add effects if needed. It also has SVCD. There is other software also availible. Don't get Dazzle.
