  2. First, how are you getting the video from your Canopus into your computer? You must be using Firewire, but you didn't mention that.

Second, I have had great success using Pinnacle Studio 7. It records to a DV AVI file, from which you can encode to DVD-compatible MPG using your choice of bitrates.

Third, I take the MPG I made with Pinnacle and use Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 to author the MPG to DVD. It rocks.

  3. Hi doug. Sorry, I missed to tell that I have IEEE-1394/Firewire build on my motherboard (Asus P4PE). So I use firewire between ADVC 100 and my computer. Composit between my camrecorder and ADVC 100. Are these software availibe as tries? I have make many test, I use Movie Maker 2 to capture and edit, and then put my movie and picture on Sonic MyDVD 4.04. The quality is OK, but the color are week. Specally the blue. Water (in pool), are more like light green / white then blue. Even the sky looks more like greay/white than blue. Overall the quality are very good. Many says that they save the capture as AVI and then convert it to MPG2. I have worked with TMEPGENC many times before (for VCD/SVCD), it is verry good, but slow.

    Thanks in advance.
