Ahhhh..another satisified Pinnacle customer :P Come on over to the other side where the software is easy to use, doesn't have major bugs and problems, and can actualy be productive. Vegas Video 4, all you need to know.

  3. MAGIX video deLuxe 2,0 is an all-in-one video studio on PC. Videos, movies, photos and additional audio and video material can be re-worked from the most diverse sources on the PC. Long films can be divided into different chapters and/or scenes automatically. Or the other way around: short takes can be integrated automatically into a movie.
In the Storyboard mode, all scenes are represented in sequence on the storyboard. They can be placed in the correct order with the mouse, be furnished with texts, titles, effects, transitions and a new soundtrack.

The timeline mode is for more detailed editing. Here, all files are displayed as objects on different tracks. Basically, objects positioned one over the other are played simultaneously, while objects positioned one behind the other are played successively. Additional material from the Media Pool can be loaded via drag & drop or by double click. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a video, photo, graphic, subtitle, commentary, sound, song, rtf text file or even a MIDI file – all objects can be processed uniformly and intuitively.

When your video is finished, you can then utilize it in any number of ways. You can play it back on the video tape player or play it on the camcorder. You can store it on CD-ROM. You can burn it onto (S) Video CD or DVD and then, for example, enjoy it on television. Or you can present your work on the internet – on your homepage, as a Videomail to friends, or as a creative contribution to Web TV on www.magix.com. And if you still don’t have your own impressive homepage, MAGIX video deLuxe 2.0 helps you to create one.

  4. Yeah, what jsnkc said. Although I'm using Vegas 3, I'm 100% happy with it so I probably won't be upgrading for some time, but Vegas is awesome. Also I highly recommend using a Canopus ADVC-100 to capture. Pinnacle was my very first mistake I ever bought. now its $300 sitting in a box.

Any specific problems with PS8 ? Maybe I can try to help you. There might be better programs out there but they may cost 5x more......
