I had a Chopper, cool bike, you could get about 5 people on it. Most comfortable saddle ever on a bike, and really good for wheelies. Couple of my mates had Grifters, no where near as cool. One good thing I remember about them is you could fold the front mudflap backwards so it rubbed against the tyre. So whan riding along the flap rubbing against the nobbles of the chunky tyres sounded like a little motorbike. Soon wore out the mudflaps thoughOriginally Posted by rhegedus![]()

Didn't you use cardboard folded over and pegged to the back strut and into the spokes to get that motorbike sound? We did.

If we're not careful, we'll go down the childhood sweets road: cola pips stuck to the paper bag, lemon sherberts, Wham bars, space dust, flying saucers..............

Ah yes, those were the days. Long summer holidays, 6 hour games of football, endlessbike rides to fish some remote stream, 5p ice lollies....... Don't think our kids will have it so good

...and get this :-
When my mum and dad moved house in 1974, up until that point they had a house with an outside toilet!.
So, when your gran tells you you've never had it so good and when she was a lass she had an outside toilet just remember, we had one in the 70's!

Who is it that gives it for real? Is it some sort of reward of something?
