  1. I know there are many guides but try as i have, i cannot resolve the problem.

Whilst encoding, half the screen turns solid green and the movie freezes. It continues encoding to the end of the film. On playback the hald green screen and the half correct screen plays back as a still frame.

The movie does not show video errors in vDUB and plays normally in any player in its state before conversion started. I have tried absolutely everything including splitting the AVI and WAV files etc etc and even fully reisntalled my system from scratch. No change. The problem persists in any how to guide i use that uses TMPGENC whilst trying to encode to SVCD. What on earth am i doing wrong?

  2. Sounds like you are trying to encode an xvid movie. The movie probably has bad frames and you are going to have to delete them using VDub mp3freeze. There is a guide on this website on how to do it.

  3. yes you are correct, it is an XVID file. I tried what you said but VDUBfreeze crashes when it reaches the frame. In normal VDUB however if i manually advance to the frame it says a divide by zero error. So really it appears i need to scrap the film or is there a magical programme that can fix by decodong and recoding to a different codec, or am i so inherrently a newby im into space. Again thanks for the help

  4. Did you use the "check video for freezes" in the video option, or did you play the video in VDub? If you used the option above it shouldn't crash. If it did, go to www.divx-digest.com. Look in the software section for the "avifourcc changer." It may just be called the fourcc changer I don't remember. When you unzip the file read the instructions. It will tell you how to use it. Apply the changer to the avi file to change it from an xvid to a divx video. Then run it through VDub mp3freeze again. It should work this time. Let me know how you make out.

  5. I used the check for frozen frames. However, i used a small AVI 4cc changer programme i already had. I changed the 4cc description code and the used code th DIVX and in the two films i have major problems with for last four weeks they went through the VDUB freeze frame check no problem. Havn't yet tried to burn or convert yet.

Really, thanks for your help but as a last question what are the 4cc?
