  1. I hope someone can help me out as this is driving me mad trying to find the answer to. When making a vcd using DVDx2.0 I use a large RAM buffer and it says when you do that, to disable virtual memory for more speed, but I haven't been able to find how to disable the virtual memory. So if any one knows how to disable the virtual memory for DVDx 2.0 then please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hawthorn,
I've used DVDx fo some months now, and you don't have to disable virtual memory. The speed as is, is already pretty good, faster than most. And, if you do disable, you have to reboot then when you use the computer for normal operations, Windows would much prefer that you re-enable it.
I don't think you are really using virtual memory when you set a large RAM buffer. If you have enough RAM to begin with, set it to a 100 or more. Or, again, if you have the room on the drive, use Smartripper or something to rip to hard drive, and operate from there. It's even quicker, by the seconds it takes to read the DVD and fill the buffer each time.

But if you really want to mess around its here:

Hold the the WINDOWS KEY down and add "BREAK"

    (windows is broken...see)

Now the SYSTEM PROPERTIES COMES UP
on the last TAB "PERFORMANCE" are all the settings for
    virtual memory

    Hawthorn,
Sorry, I should have told you how to disable while I was at it.
My Computer>Control Panel>System>Performance>Virtual Memory>Radio Button for "Let me manage my own memory."
This is for 98, I don't have XP.
    Similar for Win2k, System>Advanced>Performance Options
