OK, I have used DVDShrink several times, and it makes great copies. Now I am noticing that it shrinks the copies I am making more than they have to be shrunk.

Example: I will set up a DVD and find that level 1 will copy at a total of 4.20GB (about 14% loss of quality). This is after I re-author and re-encode, remove audio, etc. However, when I begin the encoding process, the program tells me that it is removing appx. 26%. When it finishes, I check the files and realize that there is only 3.85GB of information there. What happened to the difference? Am I missing something?

  2. Come to think of it, I have noticed that as well. I wonder if it always does a little more compression than necessary. It may be handy if you are only a few meg over 4.38.

Has anyone else had any problems? I have had a few:

Star Wars Attack of the clones, it was happily processing along and when it came to the final part it crashed. I tried it a few time, same result.

Independece Day - The program crashes before you can finish selections.

Cast Away - No Audio. I have tried several permutations.

Gotta say that I LOVE the program though. The edit feature is great. Super fast, good quality. A few quicks but what program out there doesn't?

On occasions it hasn't reduced it enough for me , though I ain't complaining but thought I'd add the info

only by around 0.03Gb though but enough to go over 4.37GB
